Brought together by a love of Early Jazz, the Fried Seven is a group of young musicians that plays exciting, swinging music inspired by New Orleans bands and music from the first period of the last century.

The band members come from different parts of Europe, with different backgrounds and languages but are united in their passion for this music. The repertoire they play includes titles from Louis Armstrong’s Hot Seven and Hot Fives, King Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Duke Ellington, etc. As well as original arrangements made specially for this band.

Within this program the band mixes ensemble playing with improvised solos in which each member’s unique voice gets a chance to shine.
Since June 2022 The Fried Seven often work together with Laura Dooge. She is featured in part of the repertoire and brings a new color to the band with her beautiful voice.

The Fried Seven have performed at Grachtenfestival, Jazzfestival Heerde, The Breda Jazz Festival, Jazz in Duketown, The Enkhuizen Jazz Festival, etc. They won the Jury Prize of the Karel van Eerd Award in 2021.
